About Us
Wedding dresses are one of the most sentimental fashion statements a bride will wear in her life, and Bridal Sewing Studio recognizes that it is an emotional process to not only find a wedding dress but also perfect every stitch and seam to fit perfectly to your unique body.
More than just beautiful dresses, it is our mission at Bridal Sewing Studio to make beautiful connections with our brides and support them through everything.
“When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative process that puts your vision and needs first. I take pride in my attention to detail and use only the highest quality methods and materials to ensure that your garment and styled ensemble not only looks beautiful and high quality, but also feels comfortable to wear, and reflects everything you love most about yourself.”
Meet Leah,
After years of experience as a bridal alterations specialist and textile artist, Leah established Bridal Sewing Studio in the heart of Richmond, Virginia in 2023. Utilizing her unique and creative perspective, as well as her years of experience weaving, dyeing, yarn spinning, lace making, and sewing and pattern making, Leah transforms the traditional standards of wedding dress alterations with Bridal Sewing Studio by offering a bride-first approach and promising heirloom-quality alterations and customizations to brides all over Virginia.
Many claim that the process of altering a wedding dress is magic, but Leah takes pride in establishing a collaborative atmosphere with her clients and using high-quality methods and fabric to achieve beautiful bridal results that embody her bride’s visions and personalities. Her craftsmanship and dedication to detail reflects her life-long relationship with sewing and textiles. What began as hand-sewing designs for her dolls at seven, navigating her first sewing machine at nine, and being caught crocheting garments late at night at only ten, inevitably turned into a full-blown career for Leah after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree focused in Craft and Material Sciences.
